Harrisburg Regional Chamber & Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Announces 2008 New Board Members
HARRISBURG ( December 13, 2007 ) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors and the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) announced its new board members for 2008. Both Chamber and CREDC new board members were approved by membership at the Annual Business Meeting held on Tuesday, December 4th at Harrisburg Area Community College.
The following individuals have been appointed to serve on the Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors:
- David Blain, McKonly & Asbury LLP
- Nadine Hall, Penn National Gaming, Inc.
- Adam Metz - Commerce Bank
- Tyrone Powell, McNees Wallace & Nurick LLC
- Dellanor Young, Young and Associates
The nomination process for the Chamber board includes a nominating committee, chaired by the Past Chair of the Board, which this year was Rick Atkinson of HDH Byerly. The nominating committee forwards recommendations to the Chamber Executive Committee. The Executive Committee then gives their recommendations to the full board. The full board then recommends these individuals to the membership.
"It has been an honor to assist in nominating new Directors who will steer the Chamber into the future," stated Atkinson. "We are blessed in this region with a talented and diverse group of business leaders who willingly give of their time and resources for the betterment of our region."
The following individuals have been appointed to serve on the Capital Region Economic Development Board of Directors:
- Aji Abraham - Capital BlueCross
- Vincent Champion - Rhoads & Sinon LLP
- Patti Husic - Centric Bank
- Greg Rothman - RSR Realtors
- Stacia Zewe - WCI Partners
The process for the CREDC Board is slightly different than the Chamber's in that the CREDC Board selects its own board members and officers. The nominating committee, also chaired by Rick Atkinson, makes recommendations to the CREDC Executive Committee, who recommends them to the full CREDC Board for Election. Action on the 2008 CREDC Board and Officers took place at the November 29th meeting of the Board.
The following individuals are retiring from the Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors:

- Vera Cornish, Cornish & Associates
- Russ Ford, Harristown Development Corporation
- Glen Hair, Gannett Fleming, Inc.
- Ken Tuckey, Tuckey Companies
The following individuals are retiring from the CREDC Board of Directors:
- James Ellison, Rhoads & Sinon LLP
- Mike Fessler, UGI Utilities, Inc.
- Nancy Rockey, Harrisburg Area Community College
- Anita Smith, Capital BlueCross
