Murata Business Center Holds Business Boot Camps
HARRISBURG (June 13, 2007 ) -- The Murata Business Center, the region's leading business incubator, will be holding another Business Boot Camp session, Thursday, June 21, at the Steelton Borough Building, 9am-11am. (The remaining two session dates, can be found below).Business Boot Camp is targeted at individuals who always wanted to start a business and are in need of the basic information to do so. It is a spin-off of First Mondays, a cooperative initiative between the Murata Business Center and Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC) offering an informal setting where entrepreneurs can come to gain tangible, practical advice from experienced staff on the "ins and outs" of starting their own business. The First Monday Program is held on the first Monday of every month from 9am-11am, at the Murata Business Center , 453 Lincoln St. , Carlisle, and HACC ' s Business Start-up Center , Three Penn Center , 349 Wiconisco St., Suite 237, Harrisburg.
Marsha Davis, Executive Director of the Murata Business Center and the event facilitator was very pleased with the first session overall. The first Boot Camp was held on March 7th, after one of the winter's snow storms. "Entrepreneurship is not for the weak of heart," Davis stated. "Our first Boot Camp produced 25 dedicated, passionate persons who plowed through 4 inches of snow to attend. That spirit of survivorship is a necessary ingredient for success."
Basic Training at Business Boot Camp includes four marketing push ups, three miles of information of what not to do, two hours of help to pull you up and one drill sergeant to coach you through the process. Below are the dates and locations of the final two sessions of the year.
Each session is held from 9am-11am. The final two sessions will be held:
- Wednesday, September 19, Penn Township Municipal Building , Duncannon
- Wednesday, September 26, Middletown Elks

The Murata Business Center is located in the Keystone Innovation Zone and the Technology Corridor Enterprise Zone, two state programs that may provide assistance in the form of tax credits, assistance seeking investment or financing help at later stages of business development.
