Harrisburg Regional Chamber and Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Announces 2007 Board Officers
Allen Westbrook Named 2007 Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board Chair and Suzanne Yenchko Named 2007 CREDC Board Chair
HARRISBURG ( JANUARY 5, 2007 ) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors and the Capital Region Economic Development Corporation (CREDC) Board of Directors announced their 2007 Board Chairs. Allen Westbrook will serve as Chair, Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors and Suzanne Yenchko will serve as Chair, CREDC Board of Directors for 2007.
Allen Westbrook is Vice President, Area Marketing and Sales, for UGI Utilities, Inc. During his 25 years with UGI, Westbrook has served in a variety of Sales and Marketing positions. He started his career in Harrisburg , as a Sales Representative in Commercial and Industrial Sales. Throughout his career, he has worked in the UGI Bethlehem Office, Utility Headquarters in Reading and presently he is based in Harrisburg, although his responsibilities cover all the UGI Operations from Easton to Carlisle. Westbrook is a graduate of Penn State University where he received his BS in Psychology. He received his MBA from LaSalle University. He resides in the Reading area with his wife. Allen has three grown daughters, and one son-in-law.
Suzanne Yenchko is Governmental and Regulatory Affairs Manager for PA American Water Company. Prior to joining PA American Water Company, Yenchko held positions at Delta Development Group, Inc., International Paper Company, AMP Incorporated/Tyco Electronics, Pennsylvania Chamber of Business and Industry, the House of Representatives and the Adams County Office for Aging, Inc. She received her BS in English Literature from Susquehanna University and her MBA (Management) from Mt. St. Mary 's University, Emmitsburg, Maryland.
"I am honored to serve as the Chair of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board," stated Westbrook. "This year, the Chamber expects to continue its outstanding record of membership retention and new member growth, which indicates that we are providing the key services needed and wanted by the business community in our Region. In 2007 the Chamber will be focusing on Workforce Development as a key issue for businesses in our Region. We also expect that Healthcare will once again be an issue for which the Chamber can advocate on behalf of our regional business community."
Yenchko, CREDC Board of Directors Chair, added, "CREDC will continue its excellent performance in job creation and retention throughout the 3-county region in South Central Pennsylvania. We'll be working toward solving the challenges that come with more regional cooperation. I look forward to working with the staff, the board and our public and private sector partners to help propel business growth in this region."
The additional slate of 2007 Harrisburg Regional Chamber Officers is as follows: Vice-Chair - Mike Murchie, M&T Bank; 2 nd Vice Chair - Sandi Loy-Bell, Skelly & Loy, Inc.; Treasurer - Russ Swanger, HARSCO and Secretary - Terry Lehman, bmc.
The additional slate of 2007 CREDC Officers is as follows: Vice-Chair - Matt Steck, Greenlee Partners, LLC; 2 nd Vice Chair - Kelly Powell-Logan, AES/PHEAA; Treasurer - Chip Brown, McClure Company and Secretary - Gary Stouffer, Rettew Associates, Inc.
In addition to the new slate of officers and new board chairs, the following individuals have been appointed to serve on the Harrisburg Regional Chamber Board of Directors:
