The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC Hosts EDS Series.Seminars target women and minority-owned businesses

Seminars target women and minority-owned businesses

HARRISBURG (February 8, 2008) - The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC (HRC/CREDC) will be hosting an EDS Seminar Series targeting women and minority-owned businesses. EDS has funded the series of seminars to assist HRC/CREDC with their diversity initiative. The event is held in partnership with Kutztown University of Pennsylvania Small Business Development Center.

The goal of the Business Diversity Program is to enhance opportunities for women and minority business entrepreneurs throughout Central Pennsylvania's tri-county region by supporting women and minority businesses with educational training, technical assistance, and identification of financial resources. In addition, the goal is to establish regional mentoring for woman and minority business owners and provide recognition of community and state organizations that support the viability of minority businesses.

"The seminar series is designed to increase the capacity and knowledge base of women & minority owned businesses and to make them more competitive," stated Linda Goldstein, VP & COO, CREDC. "HRC/CREDC is committed to grow a more diverse business base in the region."

The four part seminar series kicks off on Thursday, February 14. All seminars are free, are held at the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC offices (3211 North Front Street, Suite 201, Harrisburg) and there is no cost to attend.
