HARRISBURG (January 25, 2008 ) -- The Greater Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce, Harrisburg Regional Chamber and the West Shore Chamber of Commerce have announced the 14 th annual Business Women's Forum to be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2008.The event will take place at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex & Expo Center from 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. A press conference, featuring the event's keynote speaker, along with Chamber Executives, will be held at 11a.m. in the luncheon area the day of the event.
This one-day annual event combines inspirational speakers, business exhibits and breakout sessions on professional topics such as effective communication, time management, mentoring, women in politics and leadership. It will not only assist women in developing their professional skills and business contacts, but will also promote personal growth through tremendous networking opportunities. This year the event is on par to attract over 1,000 attendees and nearly 200 vendors.
The Business Women's Forum Steering Committee is proud to announce Courtney Lynch as the keynote luncheon speaker for the event. Courtney is co-founder of Lead Star, a Fairfax, Virginia based, consulting company dedicated to the leadership development of women in corporate America, non-profit organizations, colleges and universities. Courtney's knowledge of the power of leadership comes from her service as an officer in the United States Marine Corps. In the Corps, Courtney learned to lead in a highly competitive environment where 94% of her peers were men. The US Marine Corps remains the military branch with the fewest women - out of 180,000 warriors only 1,000 are female officers.
The mission of the Business Women's Forum is to provide opportunities for business women of all professional levels to network and create business contacts and develop additional leadership skills in a motivational and supportive environment.
