Amma Johnson Named Director of Business Diversity
HARRISBURG (January 3, 2008) - Amma Johnson has been named Director of Business Diversity for the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC. Johnson, the Chamber & CREDC's former Membership Services Manager has served as Interim Business Diversity Director since early October. In her new role, she will serve as a point of information and general resource on the topics of business diversity and inclusion, as well as, assist the Chamber and CREDC in creating opportunities to advance the minority and women-owned businesses in the region, as well as assist members in developing their own diversity initiatives.
Other activities will include developing additional components designed to help build and grow successful minority businesses in the region, coordinating networking opportunities to connect segments of the regional business community and developing partnerships and programs to increase opportunities for minorities and women in targeted workforce segments. The Chamber & CREDC has a Business Diversity Advisory Council, in place, made up of volunteers with expertise and interest in Business Diversity that provides input and guidance to the initiative.
Johnson said, "I look forward to assisting the community with the growth and development of businesses in the region." Further stating, "The Chamber and CREDC play a major role in helping to advance businesses in our community. Our Business Diversity initiative is another way that we can create opportunities, nurture start ups, and continue to develop entrepreneurs."

A Penn State Grad, Amma holds a B.S. in Marketing and brings over 7 years experience in sales and marketing to her role with the Chamber and CREDC. She formerly worked with The May Company as a Divisional Manager and also served the Chamber and CREDC for 2 years as the Membership Services Manager.
