Members 1st Federal Credit Union Pledges $20,000 to CREDC Campaign

 HARRISBURG (October 1, 2008)  --  The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC announced today that Members 1st Federal Credit Union has pledged a total of $20,000 to the CREDC Campaign.  The breakdown of the four year pledge will be $5,000 per year.

"CREDC has done a marvelous job of supporting local businesses and in bringing new businesses to our area," stated Bob Marquette, President & CEO of Members 1st.  "Members 1st believes that we need to support Economic Development and we are proud to support the CREDC Capital Campaign.  We believe by supporting CREDC we are assisting the region and the people that live here".

CREDC, the economic development arm of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber, kicked off its 2008 Campaign at their Annual Dinner on March 20th with an aggressive goal of $4 Million dollars to be pledged in 2008 and paid in subsequent years 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.  The funds are used for the organization's Business Diversity Initiative, to help support the Murata Business Center in Carlisle- the region's business incubator, to market the region and the organization, to support required match of state programs including the Keystone Innovation Zone and to start a CREDC Endowment.

The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC serves as a catalyst for promoting growth and quality of life in Cumberland, Dauphin and Perry Counties by providing a unique blend of business, community and economic development and advocacy services under one roof to boost our economic vitality and livability as a region.
