Business Women’s Forum
HARRISBURG (April 8, 2011) --The Greater Carlisle Area Chamber of Commerce, Harrisburg Regional Chamber and the West Shore Chamber of Commerce have announced the 17th annual Business Women's Forum to be held on Thursday, April 28, 2011. The event will take place at the Radisson Hotel Harrisburg Hershey from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. In addition to the three hosting Chambers, this event is supported by Gettysburg Adams Area, Mechanicsburg, Shippensburg Area, and York County Chambers of Commerce.
This one-day annual event combines inspirational speakers, business exhibits and breakout sessions on professional topics such as effective communication, time management, mentoring, women in politics and leadership. It will not only assist women in developing their professional skills and business contacts, but will also promote personal growth through tremendous networking opportunities.
The Business Women's Forum Steering Committee is proud to announce Mimi Donaldson, author, speak and leader, as the keynote luncheon speaker for the event. Since 1984, Mimi Donaldson has spoken at over 900 events in dozens of industries, in over 100 cities across North America and to audiences throughout Europe. Mimi has spoken at company events for 32 of the Fortune 500, 18 of which are listed in the Fortune 100. She holds a Masters Degree in Instructional Design from Columbia University and was a staff Human Resources Specialist with Walt Disney Company, Northrop Aircraft, and Rockwell International. Mimi has been a featured guest on countless radio stations including KABC Radio in Los Angeles and numerous television appearances including Good Day New York. She's been the subject of over 200 articles in newspapers and magazines, having been featured in the Chicago Tribune, Boston Globe, Denver Post, Ladies Home Journal, and Harvard Management Review. She is the author of Necessary Roughness: New Rules for the Contact Sport of Life and Bless Your Stress, and has shared the stage with such notable celebrities as Colin Powell, Elizabeth Dole, Maya Angelou, and Katie Couric.
The mission of the Business Women's Forum is to provide opportunities for business women of all professional levels to network and create business contacts and develop additional leadership skills in a motivational and supportive environment.
