Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC to Hold 2012 Harrisburg Regional Education & Business Partnership Series Make it Happen Kick Off
HARRISBURG (February 3, 2012) -- The Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC will hold the 2012 Harrisburg Regional Education & Business Partnership Series, Making It Happen! Kickoff Event on Friday, February 17th from 8:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. at the Central Penn College Conference Center (600 Valley Road, Summerdale, PA).
This series will provide a forum to share, evaluate, and promote implementation of workforce development strategies among the business and education communities in our region.
Kickoff event participants will identify real problems and disconnects between education and workforce. At subsequent follow-up sessions, participants will share and evaluate current practices/initiatives in use by the education and business communities and actively participate in the advancement and implementation of workforce development strategies to enhance the workforce pipeline.
This event is an initiative of the Chamber's Education & Business Partnership Committee. Mike Troutman, Vice President of Citizen's Bank, is chairman of the committee. "I'm really excited about the kickoff of the Making It Happen sessions," says Troutman. "We are all stakeholders in developing a capable workforce, and have recognized some weaknesses in the way education and the workforce interact. I expect these sessions will start the dialog and develop the actions to get the issues and potential solutions on the table."
