Founding Partner of White Men as Full Diversity Partners to Speak at Pennsylvania Business Diversity Works Conference

FOUNDING PARTNER OF WHITE MEN AS FULL DIVERSITY PARTNERS TO SPEAK AT PENNSYLVANIA BUSINESS DIVERSITY WORKS CONFERENCE

 

HARRISBURG (June 25, 2008) - Bill Proudman, Founding Partner of White Men as Full Diversity Partners, based in Portland, Oregon, will be the keynote speaker at the first Pennsylvania Business Diversity Works Conference to be held September 2nd and 3rd at the Hershey Lodge.  White Men as Full Diversity Partners is an organization that helps other businesses and organizations understand that diversity is a resource that provides backbone to the perspective of a business or organization that leads to innovation and creating vitality within the organizational culture.

The conference will be directed towards gaining a better understanding of the positive impact of diversity in business with particular focus on the impact of Business Diversity on marketing strategies utilizing a mix of speakers, breakout sessions, limited exhibitors and an opening networking reception.  The conference is designed to benefit a broad cross section of businesses and individuals from CEOs, to marketing directors, small businesses, minority chambers and similar organizations and the general public interested in learning more about diversity initiatives in light of rapidly changing demographic changes in our state and country.

 The event starts with an opening reception the evening of September 2nd  followed by speakers and breakout sessions ending mid-afternoon on September 3rd.  The other featured speaker for the day will be - Dana Chryst, Chief Executive Officer and Owner of The Jay Group, Inc. - a Lancaster County based company that provides marketing and fulfillment services to a broad array of clients including Reebok and Pfizer.

 Two separate breakout sessions that will be professionally facilitated will include the following topics:

  • Generational Diversity
  • Developing a Solid Marketing Plan For Global Success
  • Marketing to Women 
  • The Hispanic Market
  • Supplier Diversity Speed Networking presented by The Communication Gym

 The cost for attendees is $50 (hotel charges are separate).  The registration fee includes a continental breakfast, opportunity to attend two breakout sessions and lunch.  The cost for companies to exhibit is $150.  Space is very limited for exhibitors.  The exhibitor fee includes registration for two attendees.  As a courtesy to those who may need to stay overnight, rooms have been blocked at the Hershey Lodge and may be secured with them directly.  These rooms are limited and on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please contact the Hershey Lodge at 1.800.533.3131 and inform them you are with the PA Business Diversity Works Conference.  Rooms must be secured no later than August 2nd. 

 While this is the first statewide event, a similar Central Pennsylvania event has been held for the past three years under the sponsorship of the Team Pennsylvania Foundation and other local businesses and organizations with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC.  Organizations involved with the Pennsylvania Business Diversity Conference are listed below.  Hershey Entertainment and Resorts has already signed on as a major private sector partner/sponsor for the event.

 This event grew out of the Harrisburg Regional Chamber & CREDC's 2003 Board retreat and the need for greater inclusion and understanding of diversity in our region.  Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, The Hershey Company, The Patriot-News and Highmark are the founding partners for the program.
